FRESHLINE secures conversion slots at EFW
FRESHLINE, the German start-up low-cost cargo carrier to specialise in the transport of perishables, took a major step forward by securing 4 conversion slots for its proposed fleet of A310-304 freighters. The respective letter of intent was signed on 7 September 2006 between FRESHLINE and Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), an EADS subsidiary company, located at Dresden Airport. EFW is the sole facility for the conversion of A300 and A310 passenger aircraft to freighters world-wide. The first aircraft is expected to come out of conversion on 3 March 2008, the last one on 24 March 2009. "Because of its excellent weight and volume capacity as well as its range, the Airbus A310-304F is the right aircraft for our projected network of routes. In addition, it is a most economical aircraft to operate and will be the cornerstone of our profitable operation." says Michael Hövel, FRESHLINE's Managing Director Marketing & Finance.
